Das Kirchenschiff ist der älteste Teil der Kathedrale, erbaut am Ende des 10. Jahrhunderts. In den späteren Jahrhunderten erfolgten Zubauten. Als die Diözese von Glendalough 1214 mit der Diözese von Dublin zusammengelegt wurde, verlor die Kirche ihren Status als Kathedrale. Sie wurde nach dem Niedergang von Glendalough als Begräbnisstätte benutzt, die alten Grabsteine sind heute an die Wand gelehnt.

Die ehemaligen Stützbögen konnten zum Teil rekonstruiert werden und weisen gezackte Verzierungen auf.

The nave is the oldest part of the cathedral, built at the end of the 10^th century. During the next centuries several additions were made. When the diocese of Glendalough was united with the diocese of Dublin in 1214, the church lost its state as cathedral. After the downfall of Glendalough it was used for burials, the old flagstones now lean against the wall.

The former relieving arches could be partially reconstructed and bear chevron carvings.
