Kirche zum Hl. Iberius / St. Iberius Church

Der Hl. Iberius (oder Ibar) war ein Mönch im 5. Jahrhundert. Er war der erste christliche Missionar, der in der Gegend des heutigen Wexfords tätig war. Ihm war eine kleine Kirche geweiht, die ab den 1660ern durch ein neues Gebäude ersetzt wurde. In den 1760ern wurde die Kirche im Georgianischen Stil umgebaut, im späten 19. Jahrhundert wurde die Fassade im Stil der Venetianischen Renaissance errichtet.

St. Iberius (or Ibar) was a monk in the 5^th century. He was the first Christian missionary, who was active in the area of todays Wexford. A small church was dedicated to him, that was replaced by a new building from the 1660s forward. In the 1760s the church was redecorated in Georgian style, in the late 19^th century a new front in Venetian Renaissance style was constructed.
