Carnsore Spitze / Carnsore Point

Bei Carnsore Point (Ceann an Chairn) macht die Küstenlinie Irlands einen Knick von der Nord-Süd- zur Ost-West-Richtung, er ist der südöstlichste Punkt der Insel. Wir quälen unser Auto auf Feldwegen, die hauptsächlich aus Steinen und Schlaglöchern bestehen, bis fast an den Strand. Noch kurz über die letzten Dünen und schon erblicken wir einen Sandstrand, der sich mehrere Kilometer nach Westen erstreckt und haben ihn ganz für uns alleine.
Am Ostrand der Landspitze erzeugt ein Windpark umweltfreundliche Energie.
At Carnsore Point (Ceann an Chairn) the coastline of Ireland makes a sharp bend from north-south to east-west direction, it is the most southeastern point of the island. We torture our car over country lanes, consisting mostly of stones and road holes, until we almost reach the strand. A brief walk over the dunes and we see a sandy beach, which stretches on for several kilometres to the west and we have it all for our own.
On the eastern rim of the land peak a wind park produced environment-friendly energy.
