Lady's Island
Normannen Burg / Norman Castle

Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts erbaute der Normanne Rudolf de Lamport eine Burg auf Lady's Island. Er fiel im 2. Kreuzzug und vererbte Lady's Island an die Augustiner. Unter Oliver Cromwell wurde die Burg abgebrannt, heute stehen noch das Torhaus, der Wohnturm und etwas abseits der Überrest eines alten Wachturms.
In the middle of the 13th century the Norman Rudolf de Lamport built a castle on Lady's Island. He fell during the 2nd Crusade, having left Lady's Island to Augustinian order. Under Oliver Cromwell the castle was burnt, today only the gatehouse, the tower house and at a small distance the ruins of an old watch tower remain.
