Kirche zum Hl. Abban / St. Abban's Church

Der Hl. Abban gründete auf Lady's Island ein Kloster und begann mit der Tradition der Marienwallfahrt. Später übernahmen die Augustiner das Kloster. Das Kloster wurde unter Oliver Cromwell zerstört, die Wallfahrten wurden jedoch schon 20 Jahre später wieder begonnen und bis zum heutigen Tag fortgesetzt.

St. Abban founded a monastery on Lady's Island and began the tradition of Marian pilgrimage. Later the Augustinian order took over the monastery. The monastery was destroyed under Oliver Cromwell, the pilgrimages however were started again only 20 years later and continue until this day.
