Der Irische National Kulturerbe Park wurde westlich der Stadt Wexford auf über 14 Hektar Wald- und Moorland errichtet. Bei 16 Stationen werden wir über 9000 Jahre der Geschichte Irlands, von der Steinzeit über die frühchristliche Besiedelung bis zur Normannenzeit informiert. Die Ausstellunsstücke sind zwar (fast) alle Nachbauten, aber sehr detailgetreu gemacht (und natürlich auch in besserem Zustand als die Originale, z.B. sehen wir hier zum ersten Mal die Farben eines Hochkreuzes).
The Irish National Heritage Park was built west of Wexford town on 14 hectar of wood- and moorland. At 16 stations we are informed about 9000 years of the history of Ireland from the Stone Age over the early Christian settlements to the Norman time. Although (almost) all of the exhibits are replica, they are made very true to detail (and of course far better intact than the original pieces, e.g. here we see the colours of a high cross for the first time).
