Clougheast Burg / Clougheast Castle

Die Burg von Clougheast (clogh easka, steinerner Wasserkanal) soll im 12. Jahrhundert von den Normannen errichtet worden sein. Es war lange Zeit im Besitz der Familie Codd. Direkt an den Wohnturm schließt ein Bauernhof an. Die Gebäude wurden in den letzten jahrzehnten renoviert und dienen als privater Wohnsitz.

The castle of Clougheast (clogh easka, stone water-canal) is said to have been erected in the 12th century by Normans. It was in the possession of the Codd family for a long time. A farm is directly connected to the tower house. The buildings have been restored during the past decades and are now a private residence.
