Daredevil/Iron Man (1972)save link
On the Bullpen Page of November 1971 Marvel writes:
"And while we're playing Honest Abe, we wanna go the whole route and tell you that a couple of our monthly mags will contain a minimal amount of reprint material - and why! Two of 'em - DAREDEVIL and IRON MAN - will be combining into one bombshell title starting next month, to make room for new ideas and new concepts."
Well, Abe might be honest, but he cannot tell the future. Although both titles sold not too well, Iron Man went bi-monthly and no combined title was published in the end, as Marvel reneged on the whole idea of larger size comics.
Thanks to Dan Sanders for making me aware of this announcement and to Barry Pearl for providing the Bullpen Page in his outstanding "Essential Marvel Age Reference".
