Der idyllische Weg vom Besucherzentrum zum Ummauerten Garten verläuft zwischen dem Berg Doughruagh (Dúchruach, schwarze Felsnadel) und dem Fluss Dawros (Damhros, Halbinsel der Ochsen), der drei Seen durchfließt: den großen Kylemore Lough (Coill more, großer Wald), den mittleren Pollacappul Lough (Poll á chapaill, See der Pferde, an dem die Abtei liegt) und den kleinen Maladrolaun Lough (im Bild). Zuerst führt der Weg direkt am Wasser entlang, dann durch eine Allee mit großen, alten Bäumen.

The idyllic way from the Visitors Centre to the Walled Garden runs between Doughruagh mountain (Dúchruach, black stack) and the river Dawros (Damhros, the peninsula of oxen) that flows trough three lakes: The large Kylemore Lough (Coill more, great wood), the medium Pollacappul Lough (Poll á chapaill, lake of the horses, with the Abbey on its banks) and the small Maladrolaun Lough (as seen in the picture). At first the way leads directly along the water, then through an alley seamed with tall old trees.
