Die erste Kirche in Bandon wurde im Stadtteil Kilbrogan um 1300 gebaut. Während der "Bepflanzung von Munster" wurden die Katholischen Bewohner vertrieben, die Kirche 1610 aufgelöst und die Steine zum Bau der Protestantischen Christ Church verwendet. Erst am Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts wurde an ihrer Stelle eine Kapelle gebaut, die bis 1923 in Verwendung war. Nach dem die Katholiken wieder Religionsfreiheit hatten, wurde die Kirche zum Hl. Patrick und der Unbefleckten Empfängnis im Neugotischen Stil erbaut und 1861 eingeweiht.
The first church in Bandon was built around 1300 in the townsland Kilbrogan. During the "Plantation of Munster" the Catholic population was dislodged, the church was closed in 1610 and its stones were used to built the Protestant Christ Church. At the end of the 18th century a chapel was built on the site of the old church that was used until 1923. After the Catholics had gotten back their freedom of religion, the Church of St. Patrick and the Immaculate Conception was built in Gothic revival style and consecrated in 1861.
