In fast allen irischen Städten, durch die wir kommen, stehen auf beiden Seiten entlang den Hauptstraßen mehrstöckige, meist weiße Häuser, deren Fassaden - vor allem bei Geschäften - liebevoll verziert wurden. Stellvertretend für all die anderen Häuser, hier ein Bild von einem Pub in Kilkenny. In diesem Pub lernt Elisabeth zum ersten Mal Smithwick's Bier kennen und trinkt es seither lieber als Guinness. (Außerhalb von Irland wird es unter dem Namen "Kilkenny" verkauft.)
In almost all Irish towns we visit, the main streets are lined by multi-storied, mostly white painted houses, their facades - especially if they are stores - carefully decorated. Representing all the other houses, we show a picture of a pub in Kilkenny. In this pub, Elisabeth tastes, for the first time in her life, Smithwick's and since then prefers it to Guinness. (Outside of Ireland, Smithwick's is sold by the name "Kilkenny".)
