Rundturm / Round Tower

Am Friedhof der Kathedrale steht ein Rundturm aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, welcher der zweithöchste von Irland ist (nach Kilmacduagh). Das besondere an diesem Turm ist, dass er besucht werden kann und von seiner Spitze soll man einen fantastischen Ausblick haben. Leider haben wir uns für dieses Vergnügen die falsche Jahreszeit ausgesucht.

On the cemetary of the cathedral stands a round tower from the 12th century, which is the second highest in Ireland (after Kilmacduagh). The peculiar thing of this tower is that it can be visited and the view from the peak is said to be fantastic. Alas, for this entertainment we have chosen the wrong season.
