Dem Zeitgeist des 19. Jahrhunderts folgenden (zumindest für jene, die es sich leisten konnten), legte die Smith Barry Familie ein Arboretum an, in dem sie exotische Gewächse aus aller Welt pflanzten. Die Gartenbroschüre weist uns auf ein paar besondere Bäume hin: die Sicheltanne, den Taschentuchbaum, den Riesenmammutbaum und noch einige mehr. (Die beiden erstgenannten wurde sogar noch am Ende der Viktorianischen Zeit gepflanzt.) In ihrer Mitte wurde ein Seerosenteich angelegt, auf dem sich eine Entenfamilie vergnügt.
Following the zeitgeist of the 19th century (at least for those who were wealthy enough), the Smith Barrys created an arboretum in which they cultivated exotic plants from all over the world. The garden leaflet adverts to a few special trees: the Japanese Cedar, the Handkerchief Tree, the Giant Redwood and some more. (The first two mentioned were already planted in the late Victorian area.) In their midst a Lily Pond was laid out, home of a happy family of ducks.
