Die Brücke überspannt mit 13 Bögen den Fluss Funshion. Das Baujahr der Brücke ist im National Inventory of Architectural Heritage mit "ca. 1625" angegeben. Auf der Infotafel steht aber (unter Berufung auf das NIAH) als Baujahr 1446 und dass dies die älteste, immer noch in Verwendung stehende Straßenbrücke Europas ist. Allerdings gibt es für diesen Titel auch andere Anwärter. Die Brücke ist schmal, es ist gerade einmal Platz für ein Auto. Eine Ampelregelung verhindert Zusammenstöße. Als Fußgänger müssen wir jedoch sehr schnell sein, denn die Ampelphasen sind recht kurz.
The bridge spans over the river Funshion with 13 arches. The building year is given with "c. 1625" in the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage. The information panel on the other hand states (citing the NIAH) the building year as 1446 and that this is the oldest road bridge that is still in use in Europe. However there are other candidates for that title. The bridge is very small, there is just enough space for one car. A traffic light avoids collisions. As pedestrians though we have to hurry as the traffic light phases are very short.
